The Final Bow

It was a magical, emotional weekend as TCGMC Artistic Director Dr. Stan Hill conducted the Chorus for the final time in the Twin Cities. This weekend’s concert, They Sang to Me, was the conclusion to Stan’s 12 year tenure with TCGMC.

During the second act of the concert, Joann Usher, President of the Board of Directors of GALA Choruses, presented Stan with the GALA Lifetime Achievement Award for his 23 years of work and commitment to the GALA Choral Movement, first as Artistic Director of San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and then his time with TCGMC.

Stan will have one final performance with the Chorus. At GALA Festival in Denver, the Chorus will perform Out of My Range (and Other Age-Related Performance Issues) with Stan at the baton for the final time. The performance will be on July 11, 2012 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

TCGMC’s new Artistic Director, Ben Riggs, will take the helm on August 1.

The live recording of Stan’s final concert, They Sang to Me, is now available as a digital download.

The CD of Out of My Range (and Other Age Related Performance Issues) is available for purchase now.
