Aliveness Project Food Shelf Drive

.

The mission of the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus is Gay Men Building Community through Music. So it makes sense that we are again partnering this holiday season with The Aliveness Project, whose mission is to encourage self-empowerment and provide direct services for persons living with HIV/AIDS. It promotes the hope, strength and courage required of people living with HIV/AIDS.

The Aliveness Project was founded by the HIV and AIDS community in 1985 as an alternative source of empowerment, services and support for those living with HIV/AIDS. Since its founding, The Aliveness Project has become a key community resource, committed to maintaining a space that provides support, information, and direct services to enhance the quality of lives of those affected by the virus.

One such service is The Food Shelf program. The Food Shelf program gives clients the opportunity to meet on a monthly basis to provide enough food to prepare three to four days of meals at home. In addition, the food shelf stocks personal hygieneproducts and supplements.

You can help by donating items for the Food Shelf Program. We are asking audience members to bring contributions and gifts with you to our performances of Our First Noel on December 7, 8 and 9.
