TCGMC welcomes its new Artistic Director, Dr. Gerald Gurss, and SEASON 38!
SEASON 38 was announced by Executive Director Jeff Heine at our QUEEN concert performances on June 15 and 16.
Season tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 16. We are currently in our season ticket renewal campaign with existing subscribers and new subscribers who attended our QUEEN concerts this weekend.
Here is a “sneak peek” of what is coming for SEASON 38:
A Million Reasons to Believe will feature holiday favorites and pop songs – some of them mashed together – highlighting Gerald’s music arranging talents for men’s chorus. We will reflect on World AIDS Day and our own roots in response to the AIDS crisis of the early 1980s with an original composition, Love Comes Down. We hope to give all of us “A Million Reasons to Believe” in the spirit of the holiday season! December 7 & 8, 2018 at 8pm; December 9, 2018 at 2pm.
Our spring concert premieres the new concert-length work for men’s chorus, Unbreakable, chronicling the trials and triumphs of the LGBTQ community. Drawn from real life stories of struggle, turmoil and prevailing courage, Unbreakable weaves together themes of awareness, activism and hope. With words and music by Tony Award-nominee Andrew Lippa, composer of I Am Harvey Milk, TCGMC is proud to co-underwrite and present this new commission from San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus as we honor the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. We may bend, but we will never break: we are ”Unbreakable!” March 29 & 30, 2019 at 8pm.
Part drag show, part game show, all over the top entertainment for Pride in the Twin Cities: TCGMC wraps up Season 38 with Stiletto Squares – The Divas Edition! It’s a divas cabaret dropped in to a game show format right out of Hollywood Squares. Join us as we sing the most popular songs performed by divas of stage, screen and video. Guess which song we sing next from clues given from the stage. It’s time for a perfect Pride celebration with Stiletto Squares – The Divas Edition! June 14 & 15, 2019 at 8pm.
