This past fall, Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus welcomed new Artistic Director, Dr. Ben Riggs to its family and has focused this entire season on celebrating all families – no matter what shape they take. The Project 515 Education Campaign, this year’s Songs from the Heart community partner, has also continued to focus its efforts on educating the public to ensure that all families have equal rights in Minnesota.

On Tuesday, May 14, on the steps of our state capitol, Governor Dayton signed the Freedom to Marry bill in to law. Afterward, the Minnesota Freedom Band will led the crowd to Ecolab Plaza in downtown St. Paul for the “Love is the Law” celebratory rally. Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus has been invited to perform performed with other local entertainment during the evening – including a fun opportunity to sing “Love is the Law” with the Suburbs! We would like to thank Mayor Coleman’s office for the invitation and the honor to be a part of a most historic day.

Updated February 1, 2013: The MARRY US Campaign is a partnership between the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus and BD Portraits in collaboration with Minnesotans United for All Families to raise awareness and promote marriage equality for all!

Former Los Angeles celebrity & fashion photographer Brent Dundore (BD Portraits) has joined forces with TCGMC to create the “MARRY US Campaign.”

Brent states, “I lived in California and witnessed all of PROP 8. This is my way of fighting back here in Minnesota, and I hope everyone else realizes this campaign gives them a chance to show their face, and do the same.”
