Aliveness Project Holiday Basket Drive

.

The mission of the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus is Gay Men Building Community through Music. So it makes sense that we are again partnering this holiday season with The Aliveness Project, whose mission is to encourage self-empowerment and provide direct services for persons living with HIV/AIDS. It promotes the hope, strength and courage required of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Each year, The Aliveness Project delivers over 700 gift baskets to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

You can help by donating gifts for the baskets. We are asking audience members to bring contributions and gifts with you to our performances of Yule Be Swingin’ on December 9, 10 and 11.

Here is a list of specific items needed this year:

  • New small appliances: coffee makers, blenders, mixers and toasters
  • New household items: sheets, quilts, towels, pots, pans and dishes
  • New teenage gifts: CD headphones, radios, jewelry, pop CDs, DVDs, hooded sweatshirts, handheld games, make-up gifts or art supplies
  • New winter coats or boots (all sizes)
  • Gift cards to any store

You can also deliver items direct to: The Aliveness Project, 730 East 38th Street, Minneapolis. MN 55407. 612-822-7946.

If you are interested in adopting a specific basket or volunteering, sign up at the Aliveness Project’s website.

THANK YOU for continuing to support the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus and our HIV/AIDS community!
